Value Engineering

At Timeless Studios, we believe that high-quality products do not have to be expensive. For our Studio graduate exhibition project, we have a budget of £500. Wanting to stay true to this budget, we found ways to reduce the cost of our exhibition. 

Firstly, we searched for sponsorships. We contacted Covers Timber & Builders Merchants and they were happy to help, supplying us with timber VAT-free.

Secondly, we made many alterations to our design. The biggest change is replacing the MDF backboard on each board with Black craft paper. With this change, we managed to reduce the overall cost of the project by £182.26. That is a 21% decrease in cost. 

As a result, by cutting costs, we could direct more funds to decorating our exhibition space. With this extra money, we plan on buying rope, which will hang from each stand, tying everything together, linking the design to Gosport’s Naval heritage.
